(Plus….a Giveaway!)
Well, Q-bies, we promised, and now we’re delivering.
Recall that, a few days ago, the Philadelphia Modern Quilt Guild let us reveal to you the wild and wonderful winners of their recent challenge using fabrics from Habitat, the new collection by Jay McCarroll for FreeSpirit. (If you missed that post, click here to get caught up.)
Jay loves these crazy blocks, and so do we! And now we’ve got the scoop on how you can follow these quilters’ techniques and add a little craziness to your own work. Our thanks to guild officer Candi Weinrick of Raccoon Creek Quilts, who patiently gathered up all these directions and images, and funneled them to us, so we could funnel them to you. Click here to get the downloadable pdf. Now, go have some fun!
How would you like to win Boo Davis’ cool book, Dare to be Square Quilting (Random House 2011)? Every project in this fun, fresh book is simple to stitch because they all use squares or rectangles–and that means straight easy seams.
Leave us a comment at the end of today’s post, telling us which of the PMQG Habitat blocks is your fave, and you’ll be in the running for our Dare to be Square giveaway. Because most of the blocks don’t have a special name, specify your pick according to the quilter’s name, okay? We’ll choose a winner at random to receive Boo’s book. Deadline: Midnight on Friday. Winner will be announced on Saturday.
