Tis the season of frantic last-minute shopping and chest-rattling colds. I think everyone in our house has some form of la grippe, but naturally I am the only one doing the frantic shopping. At least I did make one gift this year, so I don’t think I have to turn in my quilter card just yet!
Quilt of the Week
Jake has chosen our quilt and blog post for this week, and she’s all about this lovely hexagon quilt made by Fat Quarterly’s own Katy Jones:
Says Jake, “What I love about this quilt, besides the hex-angle, is the applique framing the sides. It’s just different enough to go beyond the same-old hexies that are sprouting up everywhere. “We usually pick blogs of the week that are individual posts and quilt related but this popular blogger, who started by writing about crafts and her family, is now writing partly about her journey as a young mom with a recent diagnosis of cancer. Might sound like a downer but she’s surprisingly inspirational. And she breaks up her real life heavies with plenty of fun posts. (Check out her recent Elf on the Shelf posts—they are hysterical!)”
