Playdate: Mr. & Mrs. Scotty McSnail

Don’t tell us that you’re already hearing those sighs of summer-time boredom! But if you are, have a peek at this pair of charming cephalopods, and get your young ones busy making some of their own. This pattern comes from Annabel Wrigley of Little Pincushion Studio and author of We Love to Sew: 28 Pretty Things to Make. Released earlier this year, Annabel’s book was the launch title in C & T Publishing’s new imprint, Fun Stitch Studio, aimed at crafty kids ages 8 to 14. (And she’s already at work on another one for 2014!)

Pick up a copy of the June-July 2013 Generation Q and you can read more about the new Fun Stitch imprint and Annabel’s work with younger sewists. And get your crew busy with some sew-action of their own! You can find the full pattern here.

Very cute! I think if you put some steel wool in the ‘shell’, you could use these as pincushions.
