Oh, yeah, we’ve always envisioned ourselves standing at the lectern during some impressive quilt awards show, getting the chance to open an envelope and change a life. (Well, at least a day in a life.) And thanks to some fun-loving stitchers in Lakeland, FL, our chance is here.
Lakeland Modern Quilt Quild is a fairly new chapter of the Modern Quilt Guild, so when Lakeland member Leandra he Lakeland Modern Quilt Guild emailed something of a fan letter asking for a little help, we said, Yes! We are honored to help judge their Halloween Quilt Block Challenge. (Did we mention there’s a zombie fest, too?)
Some background: Lakeland Modern meets three times each month to offer members are the opportunity to attend the meeting. How cool is this?!
In the Aug LMQG Newsletter Auriful’s own Alex Veronelli is interviewed; some info on the formation of the group and more, much more. Sep LMQG Newsletter offers deets on the challenge and more info of guild happenings, including that zombie fest.
We’ll update you sometime after Market with the blocks and winners from the Lakeland MQG challenge. Meanwhile, sew up some fun of your own! And don’t forget to…
…Quilt. Sew. Live. Breathe.
