Dazzle: Sassafras Creations

For all of our knit/purl peeps out there, you’ve gotta check out this etsy shop for our Dazzle feature. Nancy Smythe Thompson of Georgia takes used, metal knitting needles and cuts them into bead-like pieces. Then, she fashions them into some awesome looking jewelry. Remember those hip colored-metallic drinking cups your moms and grandmoms had that were all the rage in the 50s and 60s? These have that retro look to them and they are shiny enough to bling your ears up for a night at the club, just in case you’re tired of stitching some weekend soon.

Nancy gets all of her needles second-hand, so this is recycled chic at its best. Our faves are the Windchime earrings, Floating Bubbles necklace and the Needle Point necklace, which is really just too pretty to be Goth, though it has that feel for sure. The collection includes pendants, bracelets and key rings as well. And for those hookers out there who can’t stand when the knitters get all of the fun stuff, she’s got some Dazzle made up from metallic crochet hooks too.

Prices range from $5 to $72. Find her at her etsy shop.
