Playdate.
Playdate.
Oh my goodness, do we have some serious Playdates in this brand-new issue!
Let’s start with our cover girl, Kacia Hosmer, and her larger-than-life airplane! (Psst! Follow the link to get the templates needed for use with Kacia’s pattern.)
And with fresh colors and a bit of sass, Stephanie Forsythe gives us Cosmo Girl. (Who doesn’t love a good Cosmo?)
Rachel Kerley speaks the truth with her applique quilt design, The Dishes Can Wait…at least until this quilt is made and hanging pretty on the kitchen wall. Let’s just say these will be the most fun dishes you’ve ever owned!
And talk about a makeover! Christine Ravish takes one quilt she doesn’t like and gives it new energy by cutting it up and starting over. Gotta love that kind of tenacity in a quilter. The quilt is fun and reminds us of a playground!
Then there’s the ever-amazing Kevin Kosbab, Karen Roark, and Felicia Brenoe each offering us some playtime in our studios. Karen dishes up a so-cute cafe apron, Kevin creates The Portal Pillow and Felicia delivers the Spring Rain quilt. The latter two are different takes on modern-inspired applique. Which juuuuust happens to be the focus of this issue’s Trendology feature. Kismet!
Below are PDF versions of each one of the templates for Felicia Brenoe’s Spring Rain. With the registration marks on each page, these images can be scanned into a Silhouette Cameo, Silhouette Portrait or Brother Scan N Cut. This format also offers you the ability to print the templates to cut the individual pieces by hand, if you so desire.

BONUS NEWS FLASH! Just in time for this issue, the Warm Company has given us some Ah-mazing news… are you ready for this Q-bies? Steam-a-Seam is BACK! No, really! The release paper issue for our fave iron-on product for applique, binding and fixin’ stuff has been resolved and Steam-a-Seam is back! Thank the Quilting Universe! We can only imagine that there may be a delay or two in getting the new goods to your LQS, so tap into that patience that helped you make those 420 HSTs recently. It will be worth it.
We’d love to see your versions of any of these quilts and projects at any time. If you’ve made one of our Playdates, e-mail our blogger in chief Teri at teri@generationqmagazine.com.
