So, Q-Bies…how d’you like your turkey? White meat or dark meat….or maybe a tasty mix of mod prints and solids?
GenQ Cabana Boy Scott Hansen (also of Blue Nickel Studios) has dashed off another fun, abstracted holiday block, and this time, he’s actually put needle to cloth to show us what stitchy fun he’s serving up at his house, er, sewing studio.
Check out the simple cutting and assembly instructions below and click here to download as a printable PDF. And because of the nature of cutting triangles, you’ll end up with a few multiples that will give you a head start on cuts for another block. (Just what we loooove about Thanksgiving…leftovers!)
If you decide to stitch up one of Scott’s turkeys before the Big Feast arrives, go post a picture on our Turkey Block Flickr group so we can all enjoy a taste.
And on that non-caloric note, we’ll have a different kind of feast to offer you next week, as stitchers all across America are wrangling a half-frozen turkey, rather than a stack of FQs. Here’s a hint: pictures of kids and pets. Tune in Saturday, and we’ll give you the full scoop.
Pre-Thanksgiving love to all! (And to all our Q-Bies abroad, we’d love to have you join us for the big spread. Dang those miles…)

LOVE the turkey block! Thankfully, our Canadian thanksgiving is long past, so I don’t have to add this to my immediate “make” list, but great design Scott and I love the fabrics you used in your sample!! Happy gobble!

Super cute. I want to make some. He needs to do this for every month so I can make a sampler without having to design it myself. =]
