Post of the Week:
One of our favorite bloggers, Jessica Jones at How About Orange shared this week about printing your own fabric at home using Inkodye. Summer’s solstice seems the right time for this project because the dye is activated by the sun, and here in the northern hemisphere we love every opportunity to play in the sun. Jessica delivers a great step by step tutorial on this process as well as source information for getting the goods. So go ahead, check out her post and make something fun in the sun!
Quilt of the Week:
During our Friday night Staff meeting across the US, Jake showed us all this wonder by Vanessa of Lella Boutique, and we knew this was our quilt of of the week! We love the simple bold graphic flavor of this quilt, and we love that Vanessa is GIVING five of these patterns away at her blog!! So hurry on over and sign up to win a copy! And if you don’t win a pattern, you could always buy one from Pattern Spot, right here.
Winner’s Circle!
Our bad for being so behind on these announcements! Right in the middle of Quilt Market and Post Quilt Market, we had you drop comments to win prizes. We knew we had to get those drawn and announced. But we also knew we had deadlines for Issue Two as well as hundreds of mailings to our Kickstarter supporters and portions of our real lives as well going on. So we are a little late in announcing these, but we do so now with gladness in our hearts. The winner of Geared for Guys by Emily Herrick is Rush who wrote, “i like urban decay. it is similar to the snowball and looks relatively easy to make.” and the winner of Shape Workshop for Quilters by Fat Quarterly is Debby who wrote, “Since I am a teacher and just started my summer vacation, I will be heading to the NQA Show Thursday for some modern inspiration. I am sure to come up with something new to work on in between my WIP’s!” Your prizes will soon be on their way!
