Very interested in the GQ for quilers, how do I subscribe?
Hi, Cindy. We will grow into subscriptions later, but for now the magazine is available in some quilt shops (we’ll have a list of those as soon as we can) and we’ll also have ordering info here in the next couple of weeks, possibly sooner. We’ll announce it on the blog and on Facebook when we’re all set up and ready to go.
Can you tell me where I can find the mod chevron baby quilt pattern that’s in the magazine? I thought that I’d find it here. Thanks!
I had already signed up for the magazine subscription. Do I need to sign up again?
Nope. Eileen, you’ll receive your issue pretty quickly. We’re getting caught up here at GenQ central and that includes all Kickstarter shipments.
I am trying to wait patiently, but can you give a heads up with an idea of when the issues for Kickstarters will be sent out?It feels as if others can already get a copy and I can’t wait to see it! Thanks!
Saly, as of yesterday ALL Kickstarters are out, with the exception of 28 people who have not answered our request for addresses. If your pledge reward included fabrics–6/8 FQ, towers of any size of a Bali Pop–that’s what just went out, along with our international orders. If you give me your full name and what you pledged for, I’ll look it up and confirm for you. Email me direct at jake@generationqmagazine.com. Thanks for your patience!
Thank you, Jake! My package arrived yesterday!!! Yay!! ESP must have been at work there. The magazine is just wonderful and I am reading every word. Love it.
I came to the Current Issue page looking for the patterns in your Winter 2012 issue, which I picked up at your Schoolhouse session in Houston. Maybe I’ll just have to wait? I’m ready to make the sewing machine cover with the great embroidery design. Any possibility of an advance copy of the pattern(s)?
Also…I was finally able to find your project on Kickstarter. It was the only thing that came up under “modern quilting”. The variations of Gen Q that I tried came up empty or with projects for other magazines. Your success is inspiring; thanks so much for sharing your story in the magazine and at Market!

Hi Patti:
The on sale date is officially Nov. 20 and that’s when we’ll have all of the patterns up on the website. We’re just not quite ready yet or I would absolutely slip it to you sooner. So hang in there with us until next Tuesday and all of your dreams will come true. (You were just one of the lucky ones to get it so far ahead of time is all…) And thanks for your kind words. We couldn’t have done this without all of our devoted and supportive Q-bies! -Jake
Dear Gentle Persons and Fellow Quilters,
I am a member of Generation Revolutionay War, so please be patient with me!
I am under the impression that I may have purchase a year’s subscription for a real, live paper magazine. And, that would have been long enough ago that I could be getting delivery of the Winter edition delivered to my very own doorstep. Soon? Perhaps? Or, not? Could be? Whatever?
Could you let me know what I might expect? Do I have a subscription?
I have barely recovered from the loss of Quilter’s Home. The only thing keeping me here on earth is the promise of more to come in Gen Q! (Oh, that and the UFOs I have piled in my sewing room! My daughters say I can not go to the Big Quilt Store in the Sky until I clean up my UFOs!)
Thank you so much!

looking for the pattern for “that darn tree quilt”
Hi, Kathleen!
I’m sorry you’ve had to wait for the templates for Rose’s tree quilt. We got a bit snowed by production on the Spring issue, and accidentally let this one slip through the cyber-cracks. There’s some final prep being done on the template and we should have it up very soon. I’ll send you another message when that’s complete. Thanks for your understanding! mjtm
Hello,
I purchased your current issue on 5/30/13 with plans to make up a Raven Plushie for my granddaughter’s birthday (6/6). When I log on to your sight I see that the directions I was supposed to find on line are “Coming Soon”. REALLY? For $10 I expect to have the pattern/directions at my finger tips as soon as I hand over my hard earned money! I work in a successful quilt shop in a metropolitan area in the Pacific Northwest, and we sell several different publications, including yours. I am really disappointed in your inability to follow through. Bad form, Generation Q.
Dear Bonnie:
You are right and we hang our heads. We have been scrambling from pre- and post-Quilt Market needs and the ramping up of our issues from 4 to 6 a year with a very small staff at our disposal. Honestly we’ve all been overwhelmed by the amount of emergencies pulling at us for the last month. All of the patterns will be up this week. In fact, Melissa has just scheduled some to come up tomorrow. Please be patient with our growing pains as we strive to right our end of the q-niverse. With your support–and our other readers–we will be able to bring on the help we need to thrive and continue to give you the fun stuff you look for. And when it’s ready, I will personally email you the PDF for your pattern.
Many quilted hugs,
Jake
