Sally Johnson (http://www.sallysquiltingcorner.blogspot.com) is one of our Q-bies, and she sent in this great block for us all to play with. It’s simple, sweet and very versatile! Sally added the rickrack for a little textile punch, and it reminds us so much of the ocean waves that we’ve dubbed it Breakers. It finishes to a demure 3” block, so it is ultra-versatile, and we suggest you make a bunch!
But wait, there’s more! We’ll be adding two more coordinating blocks to Sally’s Breakers for a spunky little wall hanging to remind us all of our quickly waning summer (or winter if you are from the lands down under). Our community editor, Scott Hansen, has designed these two coordinating blocks that also work well on their own, BTW. Look for them in the next few weeks here on the blog. And be sure to check out Sally’s site where she talks about her version of redneck quilting in the North. Thanks so much, Sally, for sharing your block with us!
