Etsy seller Sharon Enslin of Beadazzled by Sharon, Bucks County, Penn., makes these pretty little charms we see just about everywhere these days. But hers are just a wee bit more special because they’re…ta dah!… reversible! With both sides of the charm designed for displaying bling attitude, it’s like getting double the baubles. (And believe us, in these days of shrinking grocery item sizes and rising gasoline bills, we all need more bauble-ness.) Plus we love the little hanging charms that add just enough tinkle to the necklace.

This one runs for $25 and can be found here.
That’s not all the dazzle this girl has going on, though. Sharon says she is also a self-taught bead weaver, and that she’s beaded just about everything in her house that can’t run away! (Sounds like a quilter in the making to us.)
And check out her collection of small fabric bags that we also tumbled for. They are the perfect size for cell, lipstick and a credit card or two as needed for your next quilt show or fabric store excursion. Two especially caught our eye: Emerald City ($39) and Tropical Island Garden ($39).

Scrap Splat Challenge Players
Okey dokey! We’ve randomly picked our 30. Really, we swear it was random. We used one of those websites that offers you random numbers within whatever range you pick. How pathetic is that?!? But, hey, it worked. So here it goes, the PRIMO 30 SCRAPPERS, and remember, please, that the names reflect what you listed as your comment source. Thomas has your email address as provided, but if anyone needs to reach him, he can be tracked down at thomas@thomasknauersews.com. And, if you really, really wanted to play with us on this one, read the info after the list here and maybe you’ll be tempted to stay in the mix!

So, for those of you who think the challenge is never accepting “no,” we have a proposition for you. Thomas is sending out (40) 2 1/2″ squares, each different, to the challenge entrants. The rules are as follows:
- Use ALL of the squares sent in some way;
- Make whatever you want from them;
- Add only SOLID fabrics to the mix: whatever you want, however many you want, as long as they are SOLIDS;
- Have pics of your finished project done by October 26. That’s four whole weeks from today, so even if some of you are attending Market, you should be able to work this itty bitty teeny weeny little project into the mix of your overfull to-do list.
We’ll pow-wow over the submissions (probably over a glass of vino at Market) and announce a winner on Nov. 9, come rain or shine. And if one of you named challenge participants can’t step up for any reason, just tell us. We won’t flog you with jelly rolls strips. We’ll just give your pack of scraps to the next one on our list. And believe us, there were some true beggars lurking there. Any questions? Email Jake at jake@generationqmagazine.com. She may not know the answer, but she’ll at least know who to tap for the info.
P.S. Don’t tell us you haven’t subscribed to our RSS feed yet!!? You know, having GenQ automatically drop into your email inbox every morning is like having a very competent (but fun and creative) administrative assistant bring you the perfect latte to launch the a.m. Sign up today! We’re free and the more subscribers we get, the faster we can expand what we offer. We promise we won’t sell your emails to anyone, no matter how much fabric they dangle in front of us. Now give us one of those models for the Alexander Henry Hunk fabrics and that’s another story. But, hey, how likely is that?
