Issue 15 cover

Issue 15-March-April 2015 has arrived at the Birdhouse (AKA Jake’s garage). Subscriptions and shop orders are on their way to their new homes and now we’re ready to unveil our latest baby to the rest of the q-niverse.

Our GenQ Crew pulled together some amazing features this issue! Did you ever wonder what thread works best with machine quilting? Well, Minion Teri grabbed a few of her stitchy pals and tried some of our favorites out. The results can be read in Test Drive.

Jennifer PaganelliAnd you know when you see those incredible cabbage roses and traditional prints redone in the most in-your-face hues possible that you are in the presence of the amazing Jennifer Paganelli? Right? Well, we got a chance to learn some more about her in Scott’s piece, I Am GenQ.

Our good Q-bud Cheryl Sleboda shares some much-needed time-management tips with us.

Oh, and let’s not forget the projects! We’ve got the striking Up Quilt from Giuseppe Ribaudo, an oh-sew-easy table runner from Amy Ellis and the awesome In The Cat House by Rose Hughes.

And about this project of Rose’s? Well, the whole shebang can be found HERE. While we’re really, really trying to not have patterns oIMG_2520n the website, there will always be exceptions and this is one. Because we’re working with huge templates that need to be printed out, putting them here gives us a little more room to work with. This delightful quilt is worth all the time that will go into it. And we have links to watch videos of Rose demonstrating her techniques, so you can’t go wrong.

Lynn Coasters

We made a new friend with this issue. Lynn Krawczyk taught us all about screen printing. And the best part is that she has provided some materials for us to offer to all of you! A sample of her project is below. Check back soon for details on her kit. They’ve just been shipped and we’ll post them on the website as soon as we get ’em.

Don’t have a subscription and can’t find a local quilt shop that carries us? Don’t cry! Just use this LINK to jump on over to our spend money page and you’ll be able to buy the single issue or indulge in a subscription! Just think about all the possibilities?
