To Market! To Market!

Pittsburgh, are you ready?

A whole buncha people who drool over fabric and love to create are hitting your fair city, and yes, we Gen-Qers will have our place in the horde. For those who don’t know, Quilt Market is the bi-annual industry trade show open to quilt shop owners, fabric and pattern designers and other related vendors to see–and show–what’s up in the industry. It’s a great time to see what new fabric and patterns are coming out but also to see who the new teachers are, what they’re doing and when they’re available.

Of course, we’ll be meeting, greeting and booth-hopping as fast as we can. We’ll have some giveaways and our awesome staffers will be in the booth spreading the word about Generation Q Magazine. We’ll be posting to facebook , twitter and Instagram throughout Quilt Market. We’ll be sneak peeking anything we can. (That is a promise.)

Here is some of what’s on our calendar:

* Come and visit us in booth 1655. Word has it we’re near the ladies room. ‘Nuff said.

*Our new book (thank you, C & T!) will be available! And Stitch ‘n Swap contributors will be available on Saturday to sign copies of our new book for your shop. This is a great opportunity to meet the people behind the projects.

* Megan Dougherty  of The Bitchy Stitcher will sign copies of her book “Quilting Isn’t Funny!” (Well, it is and it isn’t.-, but you need to read the book to find out.)  Megan will be in the booth and sign books whenevs, but mostly on Saturday.

* We’re hosting a Schoolhouse seminar on Thursday at 5:15 on How to Build a Shop Community…in other words, ways to make your shop totally tight with your customers and grow your shop’s reach.
* Several GenQ staffers will also be appearing at a Schoolhouse at 11:35 on Thursday–courtesy of C & T–to tell everyone about our  new book, Stitch ‘n Swap! We’ll share tips and insight on how swaps can build skills, sales and your shop customer base.
* GenQ publisher Jake Finch is part of a panel discussion on Friday morning on how to get tweens and teens as fabric- and sewing-obsessed as their well-meaning parents.
* We’ll have fun buttons and prizes in the booth, plus May-June issues of the magazine.
We guarantee…a fun time WILL be had by all.  Let’s make sure our paths cross, okay?
Quilt. Sew. Live. Breathe.
