Playdate: Dot-To-Dot Quilt (Plus A Tease)

melissa • February 05, 2013 • 10 Comments

It’s hee-eeere! As you read these very words, fresh virginal issues of the Spring 2013 issue of Generation Q are hitting Simi Valley, California, where the GenQ mailing staff (read: Jake and her family) are poised to start shipping out the goods to our shop partners and auto-ship readers.

(Let’s pause for a personal moment: This issue is the fourth in our first year of print publication. First Year.  Awesome words…and we couldn’t have done it without you, Q-bies. Thank you again!)

The spring issue is literally packed with good stuff! It features enticing projects from Patty Young, Julie Herman, Emily Herrick and Christine Stainbrook, as well as Melissa Peda‘s cover quilt, Grandpa’s Toolbox. And we also serve up a little fun-and-games with Valori Wells, Dan Rouse, Lisa Sipes and Tabby Fabric & Studio‘s Rhonda Jordan.

Oh, and we’ve got a gift for you, too. Craftsy–the focus of this issue’s Working It feature–has offered every Q-bie up to 38% off any Craftsy quilting class,  and the discount can be used for as many class purchases as you like.  Just go to www.craftsy.com/genq to enjoy this discount.  Cool!

And because you already know how much we love to tease, here’s one more fun freebie that will have you counting the days until you get your copy of the Spring 2013 issue. This dot-licious quilt by Lisa Bee-Wilson of Towerhouse Quilts is just a teaser for a fun Playdate in this new issue featuring her snappy Dot-to-Dot apron.

Here's Lisa Bee-Wilson's Dot-to-Dot quilt....

...and here's the companion project, Lisa's Dot-to-Dot Apron, which you'll find in the just-released Spring 2013 issue of Generation Q.

So here’s the drill: 1. Make the quilt (just click here for the quilt pattern download). 2. Grab your copy of the Spring 2013 issue. 3. Make this apron.

Any questions?

None of the classes are listed at 50% off (though some are discounted or free) and when I add them to my cart, they don’t automatically deduct the 50%. Is there a code we should be using?

      Hi, Flaun
Okay, it’s all good now, and our apologies for the glitch. Coding needed to be altered. The discount has changed slightly, but it’s still sweet…38% off any Craftsy quilting class, and the discount is good for as many class purchases as you like. Please go try it again and let us know what happens! Thanks for alerting us to the problem.

Where do we order your magazine? (Or are there any places here in Ann ARbor Michigan what carry it?) thanks.

      Hi, Judy,
You can order it from many of our online shop partners, here at this link http://generationqmagazine.com/the-magazine/where-to-buy-genq/. Or you can order it from us on the website, too. Interesting, there isn’t a single shop in Michigan carrying us…yet! Ask your local fabric shop if they’d consider it. And thanks for your interest!

      Hi Judy:

GenQ is carried at Barnes & Noble, at Joann’s and on newsstands, but I don’t know the specific shops you’ll find it in. We are not carried in any Michigan quilt shops as yet, but would love to be if you know of any. You can also buy us directly from our website. Thanks for asking! -Jake
