Q-bies,

We’ve been glued to our television, watching as the 9-11 memorial in New York was unveiled to family and friends of those who were lost, and listening to the remembrances. One sticks in our minds: Where someone–a family member name reader, perhaps–said she was living on joyfully in honor of her lost loved one, a reminder of the very best memorial.

In that spirit, we offer up another week of quilty/stitchy/crafty fun so we can continue to indulge in this activity that brings joy to us and others. Quilt forth!

Monday, September 12–SURVEY: Be a part of Generation Q’s first Modern Quilting/Sewing Survey. So many people in the greater quilting/stitching world want to know more about us. So let’s tell ’em, shall we?

Tuesday, September 13–NEEDLE GYPSY: We needleworkers travel, and rarely without a bit o’ cloth. S0 we’re unveiling a new occasional feature about traveling with–or t0–things stitchy. Today, it’s all about the latest TSA rules and regs. PLUS a fun embroidery pattern for your tote-along-sewing pleasure.

Wednesday, September 14–PLAYDATE (& A CHALLENGE): Thomas Knauer serves up a fun, scrappy pillow, Drunken Circles, to use those scraps that threaten to overtake your sewing room. And Thomas and GenQ unveil the SCRAP SPLAT challenge, where participants are charged with using a specific number of scraps (that we provide) in a creation of their choice. We’ll showcase the top 5. Space is limited, so log on and sign up!

Thursday, September 15–GIMME: New stuff you’ll love (and need). Really!

Friday, September 16–WE ARE GENQ: A chat with Amy Ellis and Erin Singleton, the two driving forces behind the Sewing Summit, which debuts next month.

Saturday, September 17–Our usual staff picks on great blogs and quilts we’ve seen this week.
