Where did the year go? No, seriously—where? How can it possibly be November already? Maybe when we turn the clocks back tomorrow night, we could turn them back two months instead of one hour. That would work, right? Well, it was worth a shot.
Quilt of the Week
This quilt was Victoria Findlay Wolfe’s entry in the festival mentioned below in our post of the week. Made on commission for an expectant mother who gave Victoria only the word “cloud” as inspiration and direction, this quilt is utterly stunning. From the spare use of soft color to the magnificent play of textures from the quilting, it makes us reach towards our computer screens wishing we could touch it.
Blog Post of the Week
Scott Hansen has another great pick for Blog Post this week, so we’ll just let him tell you all about it:
“Talk about MAJOR bunny trails!! Amy hosts this blogger’s quilt festival twice a year, and you only need this one post to take care of the rest of your blog visits for the morning. Around 500 quilts to view and read about and who knows how many more by the time we publish this spiel. So many cool quilts and so many stories as well. This is part of what the blogging community has done in connecting people across the world. No judging going on, just sharing. And there were prizes for the comments…I think that the closing for the prizes was Friday the 4th, but it is still an excellent diversion and inspirational post. Amy does this every Spring and Fall around Quilt Market time, so be sure to check it out on the next round as well!”
