Oh Thank Cuteness!–Scott

Scott • November 24, 2011 • 3 Comments

For the record, I am the least likely on the staff to use
the term “cute,” but seeing as how my life at GenQ is a minimal testosterone
environment, I had to take the Road to Cuteness.  I do, however, heartily embrace the Thanksgiving
part of this week’s theme, and that’s why I asked for today’s post. (That and
the fact that today would be my brother’s 39th birthday were he
still with us. I talk more about that on my blog
today, because it is a bittersweet story, and I didn’t want to dwell on that
sadness here.)

Here, I want to share the adorableness of my kids, and my great thanks for
Linda, my dear wife of 22+ years, as well as our kids.  When Linda and I first got married, we had
that talk about whether to have kids or not. I had always wanted them, but the
girl I had been seeing before Linda had definitely NOT wanted them, so I had
considered the advantages to not having kids. Linda wasn’t all that hip on it,
so I was fine with that. Then about two years after we were married, she said
that she really felt that she wanted a baby. So I said sure, and happily did my
part. We apparently were meant to have kids, because that time–and every time
since–we have had no problem getting pregnant.
And Linda has been the glue to keep us all in line.  I am in awe and still very much in love with
this woman.

And now we have three wonderful kids. Well, they are fast
becoming young adults, and that time we were told would flow by so quickly actually
has. They range from almost 18 to 14 now, and how I do miss those younger days!
But these days also have a joy of their own.
The kids can fend for themselves better, but I would hate to see them
keeping their own homes yet.

For the cuteness portion, I decided it is just best to wrap
this little post up with old pictures I dug up.  And then I’ll add a few newer pictures.

Noel (18) is the handsomest student at UW-Bothell and he’s
doing very well studying Computer Science.

Max (16 in a month) is one of my two artist children. He’s currently
studying Snarkiness in high school

Mimi (14) is my other artist child. She’s currently bugging
her brothers and designing her own clothes….and occasionally studying….I think.

For more pictures of my kids and my brother, check personal blog Blue Nickel Studios.  And have a very Happy
Thanksgiving.
