Attention, Q-Bies!

Who doesn’t like a good party involving the best ingredients:  fabric, thread, batting and great teachers like Carrie Bloomston, Kevin Kosbab, Bari J Ackerman, Rob Appel, and so many more from the quilting,/sewing/home decorating/embroidery world. After all, we know this is one big stitchy world.

The Sewing Partyis the first ever online-all-day DIY event in history. On Saturday, Nov. 8, 2014, thousands of DIY-ers will gather for a fun-filled day of sewing and crafting classes taught online by leading bloggers and educational experts. It’s all about connecting, crafting and creating. And these classes can be taken in your jammies with a cup of coffee in your hand (or perhaps an evening gown with a bit of bubbly in a champagne flute).

Tickets to the party are $40, and you can register here  for classes such as these:

* Ashley Briggs’  You Should be Choosy About your Thread Choice

* 10 Patternmaking Skills Every Fashion Forward Sewer Needs to Know with Denise Wild

* Understanding Color from the Inside Out with Carrie Bloomston

There’s a TON more. Visit here to see the full schedule.  Classes will remain available for 90 days after the Nov. 8 Sewing Party!

Now, every good party has great hosts.  The Sewing Party is hosted by BurdaStyle, Etsy, Husqvarna, Viking, Pfaff, Singer and JoAnn Fabric and Crafts. And every party has a great helping case of friends, too–Bonnie Hunter, Wild Olive, the Zen of MakingArtFabrik, A Stitch in Dye, Victoria Findlay Wolfe Quilts, craft buds, cut to pieces, Delia Creates, Ellison Lane, indygo junction, Madalynne, Merrick’s Art, Molly Flanders Makerie, Positively Splendid, quilt dad, Quilt Story, Sew Spoiled, Skip to my Lou, U Create, and Workroom Social.

Of course with every fun event like this there are party games. First, anyone who registers for The Sewing Party by July 31 will receive a free t-shirt (a $20 value). Just enter LETSPARTY in the Promo Code when you sign up.

Next, GenQ is giving away 5 tickets (a $40 value per ticket) to The Sewing Party! How cool is that? What do you have to do? We’re so glad you asked!  Simply “like” The Sewing Party on facebook, comment on its page and tag Generation Q Magazine in your comment. This allows us to keep track and choose winners on Wednesday, July 30. We’ll announce winners on our Facebook page, and send individual emails. *This is limited to United States residents at this time. – The Sewing Party hopes to open it up to all quilters/sewists with their next party*
