GQ JA 2015 front cover

We all know one of the best things in life is seeing a kid using a quilt! What quilter wouldn’t want to see someone in the next generation dragging a quilt around to the playground? This quilter gets all giddy seeing quilts loved that much. And our cover quilt, Prickly by Felicia Brenoe is just the quilt filled with prairie points and great animals.

In this issue, our GenQ 25 features the best in fiber-ish summer reading from authors: Earlene Fowler, Marie Bostwick, Margaret Frazer, Arlene Sachitano, Terri Thayer and so many more. Just in time for those seemingly endless road trips or lazy afternoons.

Cheryl Sleboda offers tips on creative project management in her article, Control the Chaos. Cheryl’s sample calendar hits all of life’s realities, including time with family, friends, and that delays that can happen. This is a real, honest look at how to budget our time while giving ourselves a freakin’ break.

Let’s not forget our other fave features: Slosh, Block Builder, We’re Nosy (speak up!) And more enticing projects from such well-known and/or emerging talent as our own Scott Hansen, Betz White, Jen Fox, Pannay Guigley, Bonnie Mitchell and Debby Brown.

Oh, and did we mention a detailed look at the resurging eco-sew trend? Writer/quilter Mary Abreu digs into the whole upcycle/recycle/refashion thing that is bubbling again, and there’s a whole new sophistication and appeal to these reincarnated projects.

Gosh! So much to read, so much to do, so much to enjoy. Don’t miss it! Coming to a shop, newsstand or mailbox near you very soon!

Quilt. Sew. Live. Breathe.
