Post of the Month (since we haven’t posted the last couple of Saturdays):
Busy, busy, busy. That’s what we are around here as we put the second print issue of GenQ to bed. But today’s shout-out post reminds us all of a great many things. Firstly, that there are real people behind these pretty and charming blogs that we love to read. And sometimes these people have horrible days, just like the rest of us. Which should move us all to drop them a kind comment when those days spill into their Pretty Little Blogs. And, secondly, we all need to take some some time to Relax and Renew! Natalie spells out an excellent list of chillaxin’ activities here in this most wonderful post. And while we are frantically busy around here for our Issue 2 Crunch Weekend, there’s no reason you can’t rejuvenate for us and yourselves! Go for a stroll or stretch out in the heat with the cats on the back porch, and when you rise from your rest, go get your sewing on!!
Quilt of the Month:
We just love this black version of Brigitte‘s Linen Inlay pattern from her Zen Chic pattern series. Typically this time of year, it’s all about the bright and the white. But our friends Down Under are in the midst of their winter, and the quilt shops are all getting in their winter fabrics now, because let’s face it, there are some sick, sick people out there who actually plan ahead with their winter projects for gift-giving. Poor misguided fools. Not that we’re promoting Christmas in July, but we just like this quilt, and that’s as good a reason as any for just bucking the bright lights of summer trend. That and our strong feelings that anything trendy is already out of date. (Do I hear “hipster” or “iMac” anyone??)

Thanks for the link to Natalie’s post. How often we forget to take some time to recharge & refresh ourselves. Beautiful post Natalie!
What a cool quilt by Brigitte! I can see it with some lovely dark charcoal background & neon brights for the inlays too. And, oh, to be able to quilt such beautifully STRAIGHT lines! lol
Love this quilt! The closer quilting on the left side is genius
