Carrie's Rocking Lego Sewing Machine!

Post of the Week:

When it comes to post of the week, we really try to find something unique from the Q-niverse,  and this is one project that absolutely couldn’t fit the bill any better.  Carrie Bloomston of  Such Designs recently posted this tutorial from the most visited post on her blog.  A post that has not one stitch about needle or thread mentioned. It’s this incredible Lego version of a sewing machine.  Wow! We “sew” love this!!  And, just to whet your appetite for our next issue, this same Carrie has got a marvelous project planned that you won’t see in your typical quilting magazine.  That’s all we’re saying for now,  but trust us, her project rocks!

Quilt of the week:

Katrina's Natani quilt has such a strong graphic presence!

Katrina has posted this bold quilt on her website and is looking for pins on Pinterest for a contest she’s in. Natani means “Chief” in Navaho according to Katrina and this quilt is based on a chief’s blanket she says on her Flickr page. It’s not quite what she was looking for, but she says she still thinks it works.  We not only think it works, but it’s working the Q-room for us!  Just the dash of color makes this black and white vision sweetly sing!!

Love, love, LOVE the Lego machine. I’ve shown it to my son to figure out the design because he HAS to make me one!
It just might repay all the painful stepping on Lego that has happened over the last decade.

I love Legos too. I’ll have to go check out the tute now.

I pinned Katrina’s quilt. Then went to her website & saw the directions on how to help her in the contest, so had to delete my first pin & then repin to give her credit. Duh. Very cool quilt!
