This quilt, by Debbie Grifka, really caught my eye when it was tweeted by Jan Dicintio : 

Here is the post that Debbie wrote about the quilt. While I do like the original quilt in browns and blues seen in her post, this updated size in the new grey/aqua combo is what sends me. I love how subtle the “window” effect is in this quilt. It reminds me of the beach, sleeping in, vacation. It just seems extra cozy to me. And it’s already a pattern! What do you know? I also got a good chuckle out of Debbie’s statement that she bought the Shades of Gray bundle last summer but, “I didn’t know what I wanted to do with them—I just knew I had loved the line since I first saw it and I needed to have it! Blog Post of the Week

This project? All I can say is “amazing”.

If I actually played chess, it would be something I would look at making. Although I think we are all running a bit short on time, but maybe some of you are set up with a fabric Daddy and have nothing else to do around the house this week. Go for it! I love Sue’s observation about the Bishop piece being a fun little gift all on its own. You might have time for that, if you scrap the baking and get Starbucks to cater your cookie party this week. And speaking of gift giving, don’t forget to get one of Megan’s calendars this year too for Aunt Dottie…she may just be tired of the same ole hunky fireman year after year. Megan’s men are the Real Deal! And they have quilts with them!
